Thank You… Or Not.
What a surprise, I’m sure you’ll agree, that, at the start of an election year in which PR will make it very difficult for Labour local authorities to maintain no-overall-control, we are offered “below inflation increases” to the council tax. They expect us to believe that this is aВ “real result for the taxpayer”. It’s [...]

Coital Assistance Workers and Other Victims
I don’t get the opportunity to listen to the Today programme much anymore. Well, I don’t TAKE the opporunity at least. MY day starts with a phone call to the office at 10, then depending on how busy we are, training for a few hours from 11. Instead of getting up bright and early, making [...]

My Tory Credentials
In response to a recent post, Croila wrote that she felt I was right to challenge my Tory credentials. This is something that came up at the recent Blogmeet too. I often find myself defending the fact that I’m a Tory.
Often after making these defences, I find myself questioning it myself. Sometimes the arguments against [...]

…and this is what happens when the council choose a monday morning to start some non-urgent roadworks.
In defence of the council, that might be to save paying overtime or weekend rates for the works staff.
On the other hand, if it were, then they wouldn’t be employing staff to go to George Street [...]

Tories, Europe, ID Cards
Well… Clarke’s out of the leadership race. Whilst this is something which would initially suggest a more right of-centre from the MPs, it does mean that all the Clarke left-centre people are left with only one moderate-centrist person to back.
Here’s hoping it’s a Cameron vs. A.N. Other final vote. I would imagine that the party [...]

Too Angry To Think Of A Clever Title
I had all sorts of puns buzzing around my head, but the more I think about this, the angrier I get and when I’m cross, word-play goes out of the window.
City of Edinburgh Council, WHAT ARE YOU PLAYING AT?
When an American President takes a second term in office, you start to see some of the [...]
